We all know a healthy body makes for a healthy mind, but how much do most of us actually do to take better care, really? Its Eye Care Awareness month and I found it only fitting for me to bring this to your attention as our eyes are one of the most precious parts (giving you the ability to see through those shades and read this blog of mine ;-)) and we tend to take them for granted.

Over 60 million people across the globe suffer with an eye disease and are unaware. VISION Optometrists have decided to focus on creating awareness, by drawing attention to the prevalent ocular disease – glaucoma; with the World Health Organisation having named glaucoma the second leading cause of blindness.

Regular optometric check-ups are said to be the only guaranteed way to detect the disease, so in honor of Eye Care Awareness month, starting from 23 September to 23 October, I went to VISION Optometrists for a check up as they have state of the art equipment. It was a painless exercise that taught me a lot about my eyes and how to better care for them, cause I want to be able to see through these shaded eyes for many decades to come.
